KATRINA COVINGTON, LCPC, LCMHC, CCTP-II

Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC)
Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC)
Certified Clinical Trauma Professional  II (CCTP-II)

As a military spouse of  23 years, I’ve had the unique opportunity to work in various therapy settings with both military and civilian communities. With 7 years of professional counseling experience, I’ve helped adults, teens, and children navigate challenges such as anxiety, depression, trauma, ADHD, substance use, relationship struggles, parenting, and anger management.

I believe everyone’s journey is unique, which is why I tailor my approach to meet your specific needs. While my foundation is in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), I also incorporate techniques from other methods, like Solution-Focused Therapy, Reality Therapy, and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, to help you reach your goals.

What makes my approach different from others? It’s the attention and care taken to ensure a genuinely client-centered therapeutic experience. I aim to provide a safe, supportive space where we can work together to create positive changes in your life.

I am a retired Marine Corps Master Sergeant with 23 years of active-duty service in America’s finest fighting force. During my career, I had the honor of leading, coaching, and mentoring men and women in both peace and wartime environments. My military journey allowed me to travel the globe, gaining invaluable experience and professional education that provided me with the skills to assist adolescents and adults in ethical leadership, personal and professional development, sound decision-making, and creative critical thinking.

What sets my approach apart is the genuine attention and care I bring to each coaching session, ensuring a truly client-centered experience. I’ve learned that we all need support and understanding to navigate life’s challenges. With this in mind, I strive to create a safe, collaborative space where you feel empowered to achieve your goals and build a more fulfilling life.

As part of the Covington Wellness Center’s Lifestyle Coaching and Veteran Peer Support Program, I am committed to helping you develop actionable goals, manage life stressors in a healthy way, and navigate veteran-specific issues. Together, we’ll create practical solutions you can apply to both personal and professional situations.
